The Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Super Series is celebrating 33 years at full throttle, showcasing the thrill of MAZDA RX7s and RX8s battling for National honours, with recognition also given to top performers in both the North and South Islands.

Since its beginnings, the Series has set benchmarks in New Zealand motorsport. As the very first racing class to be sanctioned by Motorsport NZ, we’ve built a proud tradition of innovation, accessibility, and cost-effective competition. By maintaining a carefully controlled rulebook, we ensure close, fair racing where driver skill truly shines. It’s no surprise that many of New Zealand’s most recognised drivers first made their mark right here in the Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Super Series.

The introduction of the RX8 class in the 2014–2015 season sparked a new era of growth. Today, it stands as the largest and fastest-expanding class in both islands, with a strong future ahead thanks to the abundance of RX8s still on New Zealand roads. As this class continues to surge, it guarantees a new generation of racers will experience the excitement, opportunity, and spirit of our Series.
